Disney's Enchanted

An animated fairy tale meets modern, live-action comedy in this Disney film Enchanted. Giselle, the beautiful maiden who lives in the forest in Andalasia, dreams about finding her happily ever after. Not to long after she meets the Charming Prince Edward and when she thinks life couldn’t get any better she is sent down a magical well and finds herself in reality, the gritty streets of Manhattan. Shocked by this strange new environment that doesn't seem to have happily ever after Giselle is now adrift in a chaotic world badly in need of enchantment. But soon she befriends a divorce lawyer, Robert, who isn't so sure that her prince is coming to rescue her.

With a fine cast and fun in-jokes, Disney's Enchanted is sure to cast a spell over both children and adults. It begins with a 2-D animation sequence that’s surrounded by dozens of cute animals, Giselle (voiced and later played by Amy Adams) sings about her desire to find her one true love. Meanwhile, a handsome prince (James Marsden) overhears her, and they meet and fall in love. In many Disney movies, this is where the story ends, but Enchanted is just starting out on its journey. The prince's wicked stepmother (Susan Sarandon) can't stand to lose her throne, so she pushes Giselle down a well, and the beauty ends up in the real world. That’s when the live-action starts and Giselle lands in the middle of Times Square in New York City. Her optimism and perkiness put her at odds with the New Yorkers she encounters, but she gets help from a divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) as she waits for her prince to rescue her. This movie also includes a lot of other Disney movies such as Sleeping beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Bambi. At first I thought that this movie was going to be stupid. I never thought that a move that went form 2-D to 3-D would be any good, but then I went to see it in theaters with a friend and I enjoyed it so much. I couldn’t wait for it to come out on DVD and now I own it. Enchanted is one of the cutest movies I have ever seen. I couldn’t help but smile throughout the whole thing. I think it was a nice twist to Disney and I’m hoping for a second one as well. The songs in this movie are also a nice way to tell the story. I especially love how the directors made references to other Disney movies. I thought that was a fun and inventive way to connect Giselle to other fairy tales. One of my most favorite character sin the story is Pip. Pip is a chipmunk that goes after Giselle when she is cast down the well. I think he is so cute and the voice actor in my opinion is very talented. The way the script is written and the characters are portrayed is brilliant. The character who i don't like so much is Queen Narissa's evil henchmen Nathaniel. He tries everything he can so Prince Edward can't Giselle. I will admit though he is pretty funny. One of the characters is named Prince Edward (making a reference to prince charming) is one of the most naive of characters. He has lived in Andalasia all his life, but unlike Giselle, he doesn’t know how to cope with the real world. He gives sense of humor to the story, and Giselle of course is just the cutest of them all. I love how she moves. The way she moves her hands as if she doesn’t know how to hold them and she’s always making movements. She believes in love so much and the power of true loves kiss she says “is the most powerful thing in the world”. All in all I loved this movie and I give it a 10!
