Definition Essay: Happiness

To me happiness is having people in your life that care about you a great deal. It’s also having someone that you can care for. I think at this point I have happiness. To be able to look at someone and you can’t help but smile is a great feeling. To be able to smile genuinely is happiness. I suppose smiling would define happiness in my opinion.
Happiness is being in an environment where you feel most comfortable. Being in a place where you feel like you can do anything and accomplish everything. This environment fills you with the best emotion possible. You feel confident and you’re up for the challenge.
Happiness is one thing that I think no one can live with out. Happiness is the thing that holds most people together; at least it does that for me. It keeps me calm when I’m angry and it helps me to deal with ignorant people I met as I go throughout my day. Whenever I’m feeling down I just think of all the things that have made me happy and I know that they’ll never change.
Happiness is memories. It’s the pieces of your life that make you who you are and the parts that you don’t want to forget. In life there are many things and many people who are going to try to bring you down, but happiness is what everyone needs to hold to otherwise there’s no point in living. Holding on to the memories that you have are going to bring happiness, especially if you’re with someone who made you feel special.
The first time I ever though about what happiness meant to me was when I met Carter. She was in my P.E. class and she never judged me. It was weird I had never talked to her, but for some reason we seemed to click. I remember smiling so much around her and she made me laugh so hard. Every time I was with her my troubles just seemed to float away. I knew then that we would be great friends and I knew that I had found my happiness.
Happiness is hard to come by. It’s something that makes you as a person want to strive for nothing but the best in your life. It’s the fuel that keeps you going throughout the day; the drive that makes you want to achieve great things. It’s what everyone needs to survive in a world as cruel as ours. It’s everything that I wanted more. With out happiness I don’t know how anyone could survive. I know I couldn’t and I’m glad I don’t have to.
